At the base of the mountain we ended up climbing in Bull of the Woods Wilderness, there was an old, partially restored mining town. On the way out of the woods on the 3rd day, we passed through it for a second time, and I snapped a few shots of some of the things that had broken down up there and never been worth bringing down. There were old stoves, furnaces, bits of things I couldn’t put a name to, and cars. In the late fall or early winter when it gets snow, I want to go back up with my view camera and dedicate a day to shooting the things that were around. Also, a heads-up, my love-affair with shooting color film may be coming to a close; I’m starting to think in black and white again, if I ever really stopped. All of the above images were captured on Ilford HP5 35mm.
